Schoko Murai (Piano,Harpsichord,Baroque dancing)
Schoko Murai was born in Tokyo, Japan. She graduated from the Department of Piano,
Toho Gakuen School of Music, the Department of Harpsichord, Hochschule fuer Musik und
darstellende Kunst in Wien (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienne in the present)
under Prof. Isolde Ahlgrimm. She organized the baroque ensemble "Harmonie Antique" in 1990.
She gave harpsichord recitals in Vienna in 1999, in Dresden in 2001, and in Bremen in 2004
respectively, and the Harmonie Antique concert in Dresden in 2009. She was teaching Early Music
(harpsichord) and Historical Dancing at Toho Gakuen School of Music. She was teaching
Showa Academia Musicae University. Formed Ensemble Morzartiade consisting of
a fortepiano player,a violin player, and the like in 2011. Is also active as an accompanist for
French song(Melodies)and German song(Lieder) singers and a judge of Osaka International
Music Competition.
